Originally the term Burnout was used as a time when a rocket or jet has finished all of its fuel and stops operating. Unfortunately, nowadays it’s used to describe an occupational mental health condition.

It is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when we feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained and unable to meet constant demands

The World Health Organisation has officially declared it as a workplace condition and in the US a recent study suggests as much as 76% employees are currently experiencing it. It is also worth pointing out that people caring for children and parents can also suffer.

The unfortunate reality is, the more we push ourselves the more likely we are to experience it and it’s not going to go away unless we learn to be with it or better still put in preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of it from happening in the first place.........

#anxiety is a feeling of unease such as worry or fear that can be both mild and severe

The milder form can feel like a sense of #uneasiness or #nervousness.

#severeanxiety symptoms typically become more intense, frequent and persistent and may include #increasedheartrate, feelings of panic and dread which have been known to send people into self isolation.

It can be triggered by a significant life changing event such as the loss of someone close or series of smaller ones that are accumulative. Needless to say, at some point in our lives we will all experience it.

A #regularmeditation practise can help process such experiences easier, thus reducing anxiety, especially when complemented by a #healthydiet, #reductionofalcohol, caffeine and smoking #regularexercise and a #goodnightssleep.

Whilst #attentionspan is about how much time we can #focus on it

Both, initially are easy but invariably there is a point when easiness changes to #frustration in which no matter how hard we try the less we are able.

If left, as we get older it becomes more challenging especially if we exercise the brain less. But there are things that can help

Obviously i'm going to mention #meditation. It can create greater clarity of our thought processes by naturally relieving us of excess #stresses that can hinder concentration and our attention span

Other things worth exploring include playing #braingames #healthyvarieddiet #sleepingwell #regularexercise #yoga #regularbreaks throughout the day and #connectingwithnature

Also research indicates #listeningclassicalmusic and #listeningtoelectronicmusic
